A Julia butterfly (Dryas iulia) and a solitary bee (Centris sp.) quenched their thirst on a spectacled caiman's (Caiman crocodilus) tears in Río Puerto Viejo in northeastern Costa Rica in December 2013. The tears carry scarce minerals and protein.
