Was Woman's Abduction Hoax Inspired by Movie?

A young woman who claimed to have been abducted, assaulted and doused in bleach made the whole thing up, police have determined. It's unclear why people lie about being the victims of crimes, but attention and sympathy seem to motivate the hoaxes.
