Caterpillar Can Hop for 3 Days in Leafy 'Sleeping Bag'

A caterpillar species has been found to wrap itself in a leaf during pupation, hop to the ground three days before hatching, and continue hopping for those three days to get away from the sun. Hopping is common in adult insects, but not common in larvae.
